ACTION FOR CHILDREN
Every now and then, I get to work on a project that truly resonates with me on a personal level.
This is one of those moments!
Before my life as a #castingdirector, I wore many hats. One of the most rewarding was my time as a key worker, supporting children on the autism spectrum.
I worked for an incredible organisation that ran weekly youth and support clubs for these amazing children. The activities we offered ranged from tactile play, #musictherapy, and #arttherapy to social role-playing, sensory experiences, and good old messy play. We also provided much-needed #respite—a safe, welcoming space where children and their parents could connect with each other and with others who understood their journey.
To this day, it remains one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. It wasn’t just a job; it was a privilege and a profound learning opportunity. I’ll forever cherish the chance to meet and support some of the brightest, most inspiring children I’ve ever known.
When the brilliant team at @10days.london shared their brief for Action for Children (AFC) with me, I felt an immediate emotional connection. Their vision—to spotlight the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and love to ensure every child feels valued—touched me deeply. It’s a message that resonates far and wide, as so many in the UK and beyond dedicate their lives to making the world a brighter place for children.
I jumped at the opportunity to help bring this vision to life, sourcing caregivers and members of the public to represent the incredible work done by carers, key workers, social workers, and therapists across the country.
A heartfelt thank you to @actionforchildrenuk and 10 Days London for creating this platform to celebrate and honour the selfless efforts of those who make a lasting difference in children’s lives.
